It all started when...
My passion for contemporary African art spawned from a visit to Senegal in 2012 for the tenth edition of the Dakar Biennale and the Saint Louis Jazz Festival. During that incredible trip, I realized that the most important art coming from the continent was not historical artifacts that you typically see in major western collections – but rather the art that is being made right now, showcasing the rapid transformation of the continent.
Since then I have dedicated most of my free time to learning, exploring, collecting, and advising other collectors on amazing contemporary artists and artwork from East and South Africa.
My wife and I split our time between New York City and Nairobi, and I travel/work extensively across East and Southern Africa, including Angola, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda.
